Not sure if you need a reline? Do you notice your dentures moving when you speak or chew? Is food getting underneath your denture? Has it been more than three years since you've had anything done to your denture? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then it is probably time to consider a reline of your denture. Schedule an appointment with us so that we can help keep your dentures in tip-top shape.
The bone in your mouth is constantly shrinking after you've had teeth extracted. Typically within 2-3 years after having a denture made, the bone in your mouth will have shrunk enough that the denture will start to move. It's this gradual shrinkage of the bone that causes the denture to get loose, not the shape of the denture changing.
In order to reline your denture, we need to take it away in order to work on it. We know this is a big inconvenience for you! In most cases, a reline of your denture can be done in one day. Visit us first thing in the morning, and your denture will be ready and waiting to be picked up that same afternoon.
